CASE STUDY

Cyber Quarter and Uni of Wolverhampton Open State-of-the-Art Facility

State-of-the-art AV installation at The Midlands Centre for Cyber Security.

Pacific recently completed a state-of-the-art AV installation at The Midlands Centre for Cyber Security, a purpose-built building delivered by local construction company Speller Metcalfe Ltd, in Hereford for The University of Wolverhampton and Cyber Quarter Ltd.

The building required solutions for digital signage and meeting rooms, but also for IT workshops, an innovation sandpit, and the Cyber Range – an operating environment to simulate cyber-attacks and defence.

Pacific’s solutions were based on Crestron systems for control and distribution of the signals around the building, Avocor interactive displays, Mersive wireless presentation devices, Tripleplay for easily managed and reliable digital signage, integration with Microsoft Teams, and Cisco switching to fully manage the AV streams.

Working in different phases of the install – under the main construction contractor at the beginning, and under the University project managers towards the end – our engineering team ensured that we complied throughout the phases with the different requirements and working practices. Before that, Pacific’s team were able to help the customer re-engineer elements of the system to increase the value, delivering the functionality needed for less financial outlay.

The result is a system that has central control when needed, allowing operators to reset and take control, but that allows the users of the facility simple local control of what they are using with no training.
