Enhanced visual content solution transforms practical teaching within West Dean College’s Clock Classroom
Pacific upgraded the Clock Classroom with high-quality visual technology, enabling teaching staff to deliver detailed practical demonstrations with clear, unobstructed viewing for every student.
West Dean College of Arts and Conservation sought out Pacific to continue our longstanding relationship as AV partners, updating the AV solution within their Clock Classroom.
West Dean College were looking for a solution that would enable the teaching staff to provide enhanced visual content when giving practical demonstrations.
The Solution
To meet these requirements, Pacific installed a ceiling-mounted Lumens CL510 document camera, which outputs to a trio of 4K repeater displays from LG, ensuring students have a clear and unobstructed view of the content.
Due to the intricate detail involved with the repair of watches and clocks, a second input source comes in the shape of a microscope. To allow staff to seamlessly switch between the document camera and microscope, a desk-mounted HDMI switcher from ATEN was installed. A third input also allows teaching staff to share content directly from their laptop to the repeater displays, ensuring a flexible and adaptive solution.

How We Did It
Building on a longstanding partnership with West Dean College, Pacific designed a solution that combined a document camera, microscope integration and simple source switching to support a variety of teaching methods. The combination of LG 4K displays and intuitive switching enables tutors to move seamlessly between demonstration sources while ensuring every student has a clear view of the detailed work being presented.
Results
The upgraded AV solution provides teaching staff with enhanced visual presentation capabilities, making practical demonstrations clearer and more engaging for students.
